Linda de Jager
Linda de Jager obtained a BA Drama and Honours Journalism Degree from the University of Stellenbosch. After a short stint as a print journalist in Namibia she started working as assistant in the television industry and soon ventured into scripting, editing, directing and producing for television in Johannesburg.
She established herself as an independent television producer, delivering several inserts for investigative programmes like Carte Blanche (Mnet) and environmental programmes like 50/50 (SABC). She worked on a wide range of stories that caught her interest – from joining an international entomology expedition to search for a new insect order on the Brandberg, filming Namibia’s legendary desert lions, the crocodiles of the Okavango – to interviewing Jane Fonda on her ranch in New Mexico for Carte Blanche.
She is currently developing a crime and investigation series with the enigmatic South African detective Inspector Piet Byleveld and is trying to secure funding for this project.
As Grensoorlog testifies, one of her passions remains to record memories and document the work of inspiring role models.
Her favourite quote at present: “do not shoot the messenger!”
